Majura Cafe Poets evolved when the Cafe Poets program (Australian Poetry) began in 2009. 

Group leader Fiona McIlroy facilitates a group of 5 -12 poets with varying degrees of experience, who gather weekly in a local cafe . The model is based on open table, open mind and open heart, with a prompt word offered to stimulate a poem. We then share our poems aloud, respond to each other and enjoy the stimulation of shared ideas and creative expression.

The Dickson Poetry Wall is an open space where our poems have been shared, and each year we publish a small collection of our work. When possible we board the ‘Poet's Train’ to write poetry in motion!
